PÖFF: Sand In Your Hair

Maestro Juozas Budraitis plays a memorable supporting role alongside two other Lithuanian icons: Jūratė Onaitytė and Liubomiras Laucevičius. Malvina, a retired prima ballerina, dreams of dancing again. Meanwhile, the chain-smoking woman quietly divorces her long-term husband Vincentas. Their marriage was loveless. After a small celebration involving a glass of Bordeaux, she escapes to the port city of Klaipėda, where her passionate lover Kipras awaits her with a new sketch. They enjoy strawberries and champagne. Malvina and Kipras plan to take a ferry to Kiel and then continue by train to Berlin. They have nothing to be embarrassed about now that they are old and have only a few years left. However, Kipras, a broken singer and artist who has just survived a stroke, often experiences bouts of depression and suffers from dementia. He has escaped from the nursing home, where life felt more like a vegetative existence than reality. Malvina has fallen in love for the first time. They have time to experience more firsts, even if only for a few days.
